Elizabeth’s Powerful Interview | Reading PA Boudoir | Shannon Hemauer Photography

Boudoir Photographer Shannon Hemauer Photography near Reading PA Shannon Hemauer

If you’ve been hesitant to book a boudoir session with me because…because…because…I want you to take a moment and read over this Elizabeth’s interview, because I think you’ll find you can relate to her worries. Elizabeth has an amazing smile, a fantastic shape, and these big, friendly eyes. But she kept getting in her own way, by which I mean, she didn’t believe she was all of these wonderful things and this caused her to have a difficult time relaxing and just enjoy the experience. It wasn’t until she finally saw her images that finally the lightbulb went off and she was like, ‘Oh, wow. I AM beautiful. And this was a lot of fun!’ The two images Elizabeth gave me permission to use in this blog are the final edits, but I started showing my clients the unedited images at their reveal because I want them to see how stunning they are without post-production. It’s amazing what professional hair/makeup do, how a well-fitting wardrobe can help shape you, and how proper lighting/posing will bring it all together. You’ll also find I’ve sprinkled another client’s images throughout the post. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I’m an impulse shopper! I hadn’t thought much about doing a session until I sent a sexy selfie to my boyfriend and he really liked it. That made me think that he’d love a boudoir photo (I didn’t realize I could get a whole book!). We are together just over a year and he has a birthday coming up, so the time was right. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? When I called Shannon, she

FLASHBACK: Originally post June 14, 2018. I don’t think Keri has ever truly seen herself as sexy before her session. There were a few times I had to encourage her to keep her session date because she just wasn’t sure how her portraits were going to turn out…she was worried she wouldn’t find anything to wear that she looked great in…she was worried about her weight… But she showed up for her session—on her five-year wedding anniversary!—as prepared as she could possibly be. Nervous, but ready to have fun. Below you’ll find her client interview and you’ll see why she was blown away at her portrait reveal. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I have always wanted to do one, but [co-worker] Lisa convinced me that it was well worth the investment! What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? Lisa as well! After I saw her photos, and the others on Shannon’s website, I knew she was the one I wanted to work with. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? My favorite part was the session day. I felt like a beautiful queen! I got to get all dolled up and dressed up. I’ve never looked so good, even on my wedding day! Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? I felt like the makeup was too much, but it worked in the final pictures. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? Definitely! I thought I would look weird in a lot

Baby Bump Boudoir Sessions | Carlisle PA Boudoir | Shannon Hemauer Photography

Baby Bump Boudoir Sessions | Carlisle PA Boudoir | Shannon Hemauer Photography

You may be wondering why I’m showing maternity images—after all I say I shoot exclusively boudoir and contemporary glamour. Well, here’s the beauty about pregnant women: they fit very well into those genres. Most of the time for boudoir/contemporary glamour sessions, the client wants to diminish her belly, so shooting baby bumps is a fun change, because it’s all about showing off that belly bump! I know a lot of women feel, as the cliché goes, as big as a house, while pregnant and maybe the last thing on their mind is to have professional baby bump photos taken, but take it from me—you should do this for yourself. I speak from experience: I didn’t do a bump session with my first baby and looking back, I wish I had—the only photos I have of that time period are cell phone snapshots taken here and there. I honestly don’t recall why I didn’t do a maternity session with my first born…maybe I felt too fat? Or didn’t want to spend the money? Or didn’t understand the importance of existing in photographs? Or maybe I didn’t put enough value into professional photographers at that time (this was three years before I started to learn photography.) Whatever my reason, it was a dumb one! I’m so happy I had professional maternity photos taken with my second baby—I was actually just looking at these photos over the weekend as I celebrated my boy turning 7. I recommend shooting a belly bump session in your 8th month—your belly is big and round, but you’re not so close to your due date that we could miss the session if baby decides to come early. I’d love to discuss my sessions with you—contact me today to schedule a complimentary phone consult. Hair/makeup credit goes to lead

I meet Kendra in January 2018, when she brought her ailing mom to me for a contemporary glamour portrait session—Kendra knows the importance of existing in portraits, and really wanted to own beautiful photographs of her momma. A simple Google search of “photographer who does hair and makeup” led me to Shannon Hemauer Photography. I was looking for someone to take pictures of my mom. She’s very ill and I wanted to do something special for her. Shannon was gracious enough to fit my mom in her schedule. I went with my mom to her photo shoot. It was magical. I hadn’t seen her smile that much in months. It’s a special memory I’ll keep forever. My mom’s photo shoot was so magical I wanted to experience it for myself. I turned fifty years old this year. I deserve some smiles and magic myself! A few months later, Kendra did just that! Kendra is an easy-going gal, and wanted her outfits to reflect this, so we went with a more casual approach when planning her looks. But she also wanted to work her love of bicycling into her session and requested one of her outfits be her husband’s favorite racing getup on her. We worked in a pop of red with a pretty bra. I was nervous and excited before my photo shoot. I thought since I’m a bigger girl it’d be impossible to make me look spectacular. I was wrong! Nath, (a true hair and makeup artist) made me look fantastic! When the actual photo shoot started I breathed a sigh of relief and just had fun. Then I had to wait for my reveal. It seemed like forever. And finally, she wanted to have portraits that her own children would cherish, so she selected this beautiful blue dress

Diane has known my lead stylist, Nath, for several years—Diane has been a long-time client at Beauty Works, the hair salon Nath and her sister, Pheap, own. (I personally go to Beauty Works, too, and I highly recommend both either lady!) Both Nath and Pheap have done sessions with me over the years, and Diane has been admiring their images…she finally decided it was her turn! Below you’ll find Diane’s client interview—take a moment to read over her responses to my question, and if you find that you can relate, contact me today to schedule a complimentary phone consult to discuss how you want to be photographed. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I first became interested when I saw the portrait of a friend of mine. After I started following Shannon’s Facebook page and seeing all of the amazing portraits that were posted, it really ignited my desire to do my own session. I found myself thinking about how I might want to do one, what I might want to wear, etc. I knew that I wanted to stick more to the modern glamour style and not boudoir, but I did do one outfit for boudoir and it was very tasteful. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?   I felt that client’s testimonials were very positive, but mainly I felt that the results spoke for itself. All of the images that I had seen were beautiful. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? While the session itself was a lot of fun, I feel that the reveal was the best part. It was the culmination of months of
