Originally posted on September 29, 2017.  Last month I shot my final session at the Carlisle studio, and I thought I would take a walk down memory lane and look at the very first session I shot at that location. Angelia will always hold a special place in my heart for being the first woman I photographed on Pomfret Street. Below is Angelia’s client interview—please take a moment to read over her thoughts, enjoy her photos, and then contact me today to discuss how you want to be photographed.  I’m always amazed that so many of my clients don’t realize how beautiful they are, that somehow a bit of  baby weight, or stretch marks, or scars, or cellulite makes them not worthy to feel pretty. Which is one of the reasons I love what I do—I get to show my clients they ARE beautiful regardless of all of those things. Angelia is one such client. She booked me because she was getting married and wanted to do bridal boudoir portraits her now-husband but she was hesitant because she hadn’t lost the baby weight from having their one-year-old son. As I always do with my clients, I assured her that between clothing that fits well, professional hair/makeup, and especially proper posing, she will look—and feel—amazing. Please read her client interview below, because you may just find you can relate. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I have been wanting to do one for quite some time but I never really thought I could look that good doing one. Boy, did Shannon prove me wrong! I was in need of a wedding present for my husband and since I gave birth to our son I have

Every Woman Needs to Know This One Thing | Boudoir Central PA | Shannon Hemauer

Originally posted June 23, 2017. I want to tell you something: every woman—regardless of her age, size, shape, or beliefs—needs to understand she is perfectly un-perfect right now. That’s it. That’s what I feel every woman needs to know. Because it is amazing at how many don’t realize they are perfectly un-perfect as they are. Those arms of yours that you feel are flabby—they are perfectly un-perfect, as those arms let you hug the ones you love. Those thighs that touch when you walk—they are perfectly un-perfect, for they take you place to place in life. That smile that is a bit crooked—well, you know what I’m going to say—it’s perfectly un-perfect, because that smile lights up your entire face! The small chest you don’t like—it’s perfectly un-perfect because you’re able to wear styles that others cannot and still look amazing! Those curves you have—who says they cannot look fabulous at your current weight? I selected before & after photos for a reason for this blog—I wanted to show you I shoot “everyday” women—they are not models, and many have the same perfectly un-perfect concerns as you. And don’t think for a moment, ‘Well, they are just brave,’ because you know I don’t believe that for a moment! Or, are you thinking you want to lose weight before you reach out to me to shoot a boudoir session? Take a look through the blog I did on Tiffany and tell me if you still feel you need to lose weight first. I think Alisha the Assistant sums it up nicely in her interview from last year: “Still have doubts? I get it. I hear the reasons over and over. I’ve been on the other side, as a client. I’ve had them myself. I Even had them this time! (can you believe

FLASHBACK: Originally post June 14, 2018. I don’t think Keri has ever truly seen herself as sexy before her session. There were a few times I had to encourage her to keep her session date because she just wasn’t sure how her portraits were going to turn out…she was worried she wouldn’t find anything to wear that she looked great in…she was worried about her weight… But she showed up for her session—on her five-year wedding anniversary!—as prepared as she could possibly be. Nervous, but ready to have fun. Below you’ll find her client interview and you’ll see why she was blown away at her portrait reveal. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I have always wanted to do one, but [co-worker] Lisa convinced me that it was well worth the investment! What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? Lisa as well! After I saw her photos, and the others on Shannon’s website, I knew she was the one I wanted to work with. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? My favorite part was the session day. I felt like a beautiful queen! I got to get all dolled up and dressed up. I’ve never looked so good, even on my wedding day! Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? I felt like the makeup was too much, but it worked in the final pictures. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? Definitely! I thought I would look weird in a lot

Before I share with you Jess’s client interview regarding her boudoir session, I want to show you why I say posing is so powerful: In the first image, I had Jess stand as she normally would for an image, then in the second image, I posed her…chin out and down, create a faux waist with hand placement, and arms away from the body. BOOM! Instant figure! Hello chin! Love it! So Jess did her boudoir session after she lost 40 pounds! She and her husband changed the way they eat—eating cleaner, with less processed foods in their diets. I’m hoping when Jess gets to her goal weight, she’ll come back and to another session to celebrate her success! Below is her client interview—please read over her answers, and if you find you can relate to what she’s saying, then please contact me to schedule your phone consult. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I have thought about this for a few years. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session?  In looking at Shannon’s portfolio and the reviews she received, there was no doubt that she was the way to go! What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? The session was so laid back, and no one ever made me feel embarrassed or dumb that I was doing this. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? Just a little bit. Once I walked outside in the sun, I saw how the lighting changed and softened my

Melissa was such a delight to be around! She told us the morning of her session that she was sick with bronchitis but you’d never know it—she showed up smiling and left smiling. And her hair was so much fun! Below you’ll find her client interview—take a moment to read through her answers, as you may be able to relate…and if you do, please contact me today to schedule your consult. How long have you been wanting to do a boudoir/contemporary glamour session and what made you decide now was the time to do one? I saw a Facebook ad one day while mindlessly scrolling through and it caught my attention. I pondered it for about 4-6 months before inquiring with Shannon. What made you decide Shannon Hemauer was the photographer to work with to do your boudoir/contemporary glamour session? I looked though her photos and was amazed. She has a true talent. What was your favorite part out of the entire experience? The planning, the session, the reveal? Favorite part? I cannot decide between the shoot and the reveal. The shoot was truly empowering. I’ve had body-image issues my whole life. But when I was with the ladies I was so comfortable. I felt beautiful and absolutely amazing. Then the reveal, just wow. I couldn’t believe how amazing it was and I definitely hold my head a little higher now. Did you leave your session worried about your hair/makeup (Maybe you thought the makeup was too dark or your hair didn’t look like you.)? I was worried about my makeup. It was a lot more than what I normally wear. Did you leave your session worried that the posing felt awkward? The poses felt awkward but I wasn’t worried. I trusted Shannon. What were you more nervous about—the session or the
